The desire for faster computation has motivated the application of parallel processing to power system analysis. For a particular problem, the implementation depends on this problem as well as the parallel architecture. In this work parallel implementation of load flow solutions on a message passing multiprocessor is discussed. An algorithm to solve the highly sparse linear set of equations is proposed. Experimental results obtained on 4 node multiprocessor system is presented.
