Sengupta, DP and Sen, I (1991) Real time adaptive control of synchronous generator for oscillatory instability. In: Proceedings. International Conference on the Evolution and Modern Aspects of Synchronous Machines, 27-29 Aug. 1991, Zurich, Switzerland, pp. 964-967.Full text not available from this repository.
The authors analyse the physical process that leads to the small oscillation instability of a synchronous generator. A self-tuning stabilizer based on this analysis has been fabricated and extensively tested on a laboratory model power system and on a 210 MW synchronous generator in a power station. The authors provide some of the test results.
