Abstract

Solid state reaction of $Li_2CO_3$, $MC_2O_4.2H_2O(M = Mg, Ni,Zn)$, $M'_2O_5 (M' = Nb, Ta)$ and $BaCl_2$ in stoichiometric quantities at $900-1100^o C$ in air provides a convenient one-pot synthesis route for 1 : 2 B-site ordered double perovskite oxides, $Ba_3MM'_2O_9$, that find application in microwave telecommunications.
