Abstract

The enantiospecific first total synthesis of 10-hydroxy-10,11-epoxythapsan-5-yl senecioate (+)-1f, the enantiomer of the natural thapsane isolated from Thapsia villosa var minor, has been accomplished starting from (R)-carvone.
