Thejaswi, C and Sharma, Vinod (2004) Adaptive Joint Source/Channel Rate Allocation Policies for Delay Sensitive Applications over Fading Channels. In: International Symposium on Information Theory, 2004. ISIT 2004, 27 June-2 July, Chicago, 394 -394.
We consider a problem of optimal source-channel coding rate pair allocation over a wireless link based on the channel state and the queue length at the transmitter. We show that by this scheme, one can gain substantially in performance as compared to only source or channel rate optimization.
