Abstract

In the title compound, $C_2_3H_2_2ClNO$, there are two independent molecules showing similar conformations, the tetrahydroindole ring system being approximately planar except for the dimethyl-substituted C atom. Molecules are linked via $C-H \cdot \cdot \cdot O$, $C-H \cdot \cdot \cdot \pi$ and $C-H \cdot \cdot \cdot Cl$ interactions, forming a sheet-like structure.
