A simple, non iterative method for component wave delineation from the Blectrocardiogram (ECG) is derived by modelling it's DCT as a sum of few damped cosinusoids. The parameter set $p_k [a_k,\theta_k,f_k, \alpha_k ]$ i.e., amplitude, phase, frequency and damping factors of the cosinusoids are estimated by the extended Prony method. Based on the clusters of poles appropriate number of them are combined and the component waves derived thereby are in most cases within a percent rms difference (PRD) of 10. The method performed well even in the presence of different artifacts, with a data compression of 1 in 5.
