Sound radiation from plates in baf.es, and shells is a well-studied subject. More recently, researchers are trying to optimize these structures for minimizing sound radiation . A few typical parameters which are optimized include material tailoring , location and number of point masses attached to the structure , dynamic compliance , and damping layer placements . These techniques include numerical methods such as BEM and FEM.
