A fairly simple mathematical model to predetermine the charge-voltage characteristics of a transmission line under the influence of a surge corona has been presented in this paper. This model has been used to compute the attenuation and distortion of the surges as they propagate along the line. In addition, the corona current waveforms have also been computed and presented. The deformation suffered by very fast surges due to the corona has also been investigated and the results presented in this paper.
