Abstract

$C_{60}$ and $C_{70}$ encapsulated in the channels of cubic mesoporous silica (MCM-48) have been investigated by diffuse reflectance, $^{13}C$ NMR, ESR and photoluminescence spectra. The effects due to clustering and the interaction of the fullerenes with the cage are revealed by the spectra.
